superintendents of Chinese Trade, the Zongli Yamen and the Diplomatic Minister for approval.

Should there be

any dispute arising from the said articles the Chinese Version shall take precedence. Signed in Shanghai on the 31st day of March, 1883, the 25th day of the 3rd month of

the 9th year of Kwang-Sheu.
